Services :: Unexploded Ordnance (UXO)

Unexploded ordnance encountered on active, inactive or abandoned ranges and storage areas present the potential for catastrophic consequences to both personnel and equipment. Ordnance including munitions, rockets, missiles, general-purpose bombs, artillery rounds, land mines and pyrotechnic devices may be encountered.

As an unexploded ordnance disposal and decontamination services contractor, NWT provides teams of qualified personnel to conduct both surface and subsurface clearance of contaminated areas. Using effective, field-proven techniques, we have established a solid track record for consistent performance of safe, efficient UXO work. Our UXO services include:

Requirement Surveys
Review of type and amount of ordnance material on range. Assessment of terrain and surrounding environment to determine necessary personnel, equipment and vehicles to complete clearance process.

Location and Staking
Locate, identify and mark areas of all potentially hazardous ordnance items.

Demilitarization
Each item is demilitarized using a combination of combustion, washing, chemical stabilization, detonation or physical rendering.

Residue Removal
Physical removal of demilitarized ordnance material. Materials are segregated to ensure the greatest salvage value.
