| Any person
who is possibly exposed to medical wastes
or is designated as a voluntary first
aid provider is required to be trained
in the precautions necessary when dealing
with wastes and fluids that couold possibly
contain blood borne pathogens.

Course
Outline |
Students
will learn the barrier method of exposure
control to blood borne pathogens including
AIDS, Hepatitis B/C and other biological
hazards when dealing with medical
wastes and bodily fluids. This course
is included as part of the Standard
First Aid and CPR Course or may be
taught as a stand alone module. Attendees
will be given instruction in the use
of protective clothing and proper
decontamination of areas possibly
contaminated with biological materials.
